GUEST ROOMS

All rooms have private ensuite facilities. 


Standard Rooms - All of our standard rooms are in the Lodges and they all open in to a relaxing open veranda overlooking the garden. The rooms and bathrooms are completed beautifully to include modern guest requirements. The rooms have fans but they are not air-conditioned.


Deluxe Rooms - All of our deluxe rooms are in the Villa and they also all open in to open verandas overlooking the gardens. The rooms and bathrooms are completed beautifully to include modern guest requirements. Unlike the standard rooms, Deluxe rooms are air conditioned.


Suite Rooms - We have two Suite Rooms, which are in the Villa and they open in to a beautiful front veranda within the main Villa. The rooms and bathrooms are large and spacious and our completed to luxury standards. The Suite Room bathrooms have both a Shower and a Bath. Both Suite Rooms are air conditioned.

We maintain a timetable, which you can use as a rough guide during your stay. Please note that given the relaxed atmosphere we are trying to introduce you into we don’t follow the schedule timings strictly. However, this is a guide to show you approximate timings, which we have found to be useful with guests as our normal life is full of carefully planned days.

Food:

Nutrition is an important component of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. At Plantation villa we take this very seriously and believe that in order to make significant changes to our overall wellness, we need to be consuming the right foods, rich in vitamins, nutrients and minerals.

 

Our ‘Farm to Plate Policy’ ensures that the majority of the food that is served to you comes directly from the plantations own rice paddy field, organic vegetable, fruit spice and herb garden.


Free from the artificial preservatives, colourings and pesticides, all meals on site are home made from healthy, fresh ingredients. Anything that is not picked straight from our own organic gardens is sourced locally and ethically so that quality of the food is not compromised.


Our doctor has reviewed our menus and ensured they are nutritionally balanced. Our meals are mainly vegetarian and gluten and sugar free. Once or twice a week we serve eggs and curd (dairy) as many of our western guests seems to struggle to maintain a vegetarian diet long term. Guests are invited to join in on harvesting activities during seasons or learn about their favourite dishes through Ayurvedic healthy cookery demonstrations and go picking the ingredients from the ground. The complete experience encourages a more hands on approach to wellness and promotes changes to unhealthy lifestyle choices and habits for good.

Additional activity:

You will find this holiday experience very different from a normal activity packed holiday or even a normal spa holiday. We are offering a very unique opportunity for you to be amidst nature and totally relax whilst we look after you using the knowledge of century old vedic traditions and mindfulness practices. You will arrive to a completely natural environment with no man-made distractions. The idea is that when the physical body is not too active and there are not much distractions to stimulate the mind, it turns inwards into understanding and feeling our own emotions and cognitive behaviour patterns. Most of our modern day life is so full of distractions that we are left with little or no time to really examine our inner-self. As a result, we become so unaware of our own emotions and the impact it is having on our physical body.

Yoga and Meditation

Ancient practices of yoga and meditation are a key component to embracing a more mindful lifestyle. Coupled along with healing natural treatments and medicines, yoga and meditation allow the body to restore, improve and develop a harmony of mind, body and spirit. We cannot fully benefit from the physical treatments alone, and this is where yoga and meditation practice plays such an important role in truly overcoming our own personal shortfalls, physical imperfections, disabilities or ailments.

 

Yoga was initially developed so the meditative yogis could develop their physical body to enable them to sit for long hours in meditation. Yoga is about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. The poses are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the yoga tradition practiced. 

At Plantation Villa, we work with a number of fully qualified and experienced teachers to guide your daily yoga lesson. We have expert teachers from the Western countries like Europe and the US and also teachers from India and Sri Lanka. Our teachers will be visiting us and will each be resident with us for 3-6 months along with some short term visiting teachers running specialist retreats. It does not matter whether you are a complete beginner or if you are an experienced practitioner. If you have practiced yoga before, specially in the west, you will find that the method of teaching by the Indian and Sri Lankan teachers are rather different. It is more towards the authentic form of meditative yoga. Please inform the teacher at the beginning of the class of your level and any ailments you may have such as joint aches etc. Feel free to discuss with our teacher on your likes/dislikes and any other yoga related queries you may have. Whatever your motivation, whether it is to improve your downward dog or just to get a little fitter or even slimmer, our wonderful teachers will be available and work with you during your stay with us.

 

We will provide two yoga classes daily – one in the morning and another in the evening. The morning class will be a little energetic and the evening class will be slower. We will also have daily mid morning guided meditation classes to help you develop your mindfulness practice.

 

Additionally our teachers will be conducting evening discussions on Yoga and Meditation philosophy so you gain a deeper understanding into the practice. The mindfulness principles on which yoga and meditation are based on, provides the foundation for a happy, healthy life.

Approach:

The best way to travel from the airport is by car. As the public transport system is not well linked. The drive is 1.5 hours from the airport. There is the possibility fort he train but its not recommended

 

The most comfortable way is to book the internal pick up service for EUR 65 pp/way

Amazing experience in every way. Highly recommendable. Definetly five stars the standard room was with an oceanview, surf instructors were very good and friendly as other staffmembers as well. Ryan the yoga instructior is cool guy that adapts the class to the surf. The food is in dfrost is a good mix of moroccan and western food. The hole place is an very friendly environment. Thanks

Terms and conditions:

Ayurveda treatments can work in combination with other western medication without harmful effects. Guest who have been prescribed medication in their home country may only stop taking or reduce this medication if they receive permission to do so from their own medical practitioner.
